Heaven and Earth: Instruction Video
Benefits
This movement subtly moves all the major joints in the body and calms the mind.
Key Positions
Do and Don’t
- DO breathe gently through your nose, keeping your tongue on the roof of your mouth.
- DO ‘settle the wrist’ so that your hands don’t ‘flap’ up and down during the movement – they should subtly follow the overall movement of the arms and the body.
- DO try to keep your elbows down in the upper position.
- DON’T allow your shoulders to rise up as you lift your hands.
Meridians
This movement engages the laogong, the point in the middle of the palm.
Visualisation
Imagine a thread lifting the corner of the wrists and the palms connected through the laogong in each hand on the way up.
