About Us

We have a simple aim – to make the life-changing benefits of Tai Chi available to as many people as possible. We believe that the deep physical advantages gained from practice are enhanced by a true understanding of the philosophical and theoretical aspects that underpin it. We have been teaching Tai Chi in all its entirety for over thirty years.

Who are we?

Tai Chi Kitchen is the online aspect of the Mei Quan Academy of Tai Chi, founded in 1992.

We teach Yang style Tai Chi in a direct line from Yang Luchan.

The school concentrates on developing its teachers to a high level of educational excellence, and making learning a relaxed, enjoyable experience. The school provides extensive seminars and specialist classes, and a vibrant community of students. We make full use of modern technology to enrich the students’ experience, while maintaining a deep respect for the traditional ways of learning.

The Founder

For over 55 years, Brett Robertson has trained across the world in Tai Chi, Qigong, martial arts, Asian philosophy and creative arts. He founded the school in 1992 out of a desire to use innovative teaching methods to make Tai Chi in its full physical and spiritual aspects available to as many people as possible.
